Job Adverts Uganda (“we”, “us”) runs jobadvertsuganda.com, a free job board for job seekers and employers in Uganda. This page explains what information we collect through the site, why, and what we do with it. It applies to everyone who browses, registers, applies for a job, or posts a vacancy on the site.
What we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we collect:
- Job seeker accounts: your name, email address, and any profile details or CV/resume file you choose to add.
- Job applications: the details and any documents you submit when applying for a specific vacancy, which are shared with the employer for that vacancy.
- Employer accounts: your name, company name, email address, and other details needed to register and post a job.
- Contact messages: whatever you send us by email, phone, or WhatsApp when you get in touch.
- Basic technical data: standard server logs and cookies used to keep you logged in and the site working correctly.
We do not ask job seekers to pay to register, browse, or apply for jobs, and we never ask for payment card or mobile money details through the site.
How we use it
We use this information to operate the job board: to create and manage accounts, to match and deliver applications between job seekers and employers, to review job adverts before they’re published, to respond when you contact us, and to keep the site secure and working properly. We don’t sell your personal information to third parties.
Who sees it
When you apply for a job, the employer who posted that vacancy sees the details and documents you submitted with that application. Your account details are otherwise only visible to us, for running and moderating the site.
Cookies
The site uses cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences while you browse. These are functional cookies needed for the site to work – we don’t currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
How long we keep information
We keep account and application information for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to run the site. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time – see Contact below.
Your choices
You can review or update your account details by logging in, or contact us to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time as the site changes. We’ll change the date below when we do.
